We miss you a lot...and even Dave says he wants you to move here! The very charming little log cabin just two farms up from us is for sale, and it is in good condition. We can just see you there.

So we get dibs on you.

love, Kashestiahomeschoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07702907367647290904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19074655.post-75426361566690488222008-01-28T21:24:00.000-05:002008-01-28T21:24:00.000-05:00Hey you. I'm so glad to see a post from you. I was...Hey you. I'm so glad to see a post from you. I was just thinking about you yesterday. I was showing Max some photos I had piled on my desk and the postcard I bought when I was with you in PA was in the stack.

I found myself nodding a lot as I read your entry. Your parents share some eerie similarities with mine. I worry about my mother. She would be in a very bad place without my dad. She doesn't like to drive (has a limited range and only drives to close by places she knows well). She hasn't a clue how to manage finances. She hasn't a clue about their insurances or who to contact. She is clueless, basically. She can cook and clean and shop. That's about it. Doing the taxes? Paying bills? Not a clue. Here's the thing. It sounds to me like your dad is healthier than your mom. Not so, in my parents' case. Dad is in very poor health (and getting worse at a steady pace) while I think my mother just might outlive ME.

So I have already started to think about who she will go live with once my father is gone. I find myself crossing my fingers that my brother and his wife DON'T have kids so they have the room to take her in. LOL Then they can mooch off her inheritance all they like.

*sigh* I just know she's gonna end up here. SHE thinks she is going to continue to live in that huge house, alone, until she dies. Maybe she can, if she hires someone to do her bills and taxes and junk. They have people who do that, right? I wonder if she'll be able to afford that. And still pay the housekeeper. And gardener.

Crap. She is sooooo gonna end up here.

Man, I got rather chatty with myself here, didn't I? LOL Nice talking with you, hun. ;-)Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16689649366003513145noreply@blogger.com
